In the meantime, here is a quick list:

  1. Bring your own sheets, blankets and towels. Maybe two sets one for kiddo and one for you guys. Bring extra blankets, it gets cold.

  2. Bring clothes that you don’t ever want to see again. You will be living in these clothes and clothes hold memories.

  3. Phone Chargers

  4. Journal/notebook

  5. Check to see if your hospital has washing machines for patients and families.

  6. Bring a yoga mat, just in case you want to exercise. You want to avoid the floor as much as possible.

  7. Pack in clear plastic bins

  8. Bring a “talisman” or something that reminds kiddo (and you guys) of home.

  9. Bring food (if you can).

  10. Coloring books, Magazines, books, knitting – something for you guys to do.

  11. Headphones so you can sleep at night.

  12. Eye mask so you can sleep when you need

  13. Any medicines you might need

  14. For women, even if it is not close to your period, bring stuff anyway.
